Abbotsfield Park, Hobart

Located in the Northern Hobart suburb of Claremont, Abbotsfield is a tidy well kept ground which used to be an apple orchard many years ago. It is next door to Abbotsfield Primary School and has a large hill at the Mt Wellington end of the ground upon which the Magpie Clubrooms sit and another large two storey building stands which house both changerooms and a fitness centre upstairs. The kiosk is also up on the hill overlooking the ground. This ground is one the windiest grounds in the south with the wind rolling down the hills it can be rather unpleasent but, is a visually neat, tidy and well kept ground with a generally good playing surface with a good scoreboard on the southern side of the ground. It is hard to find though and one is advised to check a map of the Claremont area before attepting to go there as you will find many gates locked. You need to go in via the Claremont Clubrooms which are just off Adelphi Rd.
