Pontville Oval

This ground is actually titled Thompson Oval and is one of two grounds here. It is located on the Midlands Highway opposite the Pontville Church past the Army Barracks and just back from the Crown Inn and has a very large playing surface. The ground is used for SFL Finals and Roster matches and is the home of the Brighton Robins. It has a new brick clubroom on the wing and a Memorial Hall at the Highway end. The Changerooms are brick and are located at the top end of the ground. The scoreboard is an old open wooden one located at the top end. It has a number of temporary stands located around the ground and one small old wooden one with timekeepers box in it on the Brighton side of the ground, ajoining that is part of the old wooden stand at Bellerive which is now used at Pontville. The ground can hold large crowds but is still mostly filled with cars of which many can be accomodated.
